How to get it and use it?

  • Download the plugin and install it.
  • Run SketchUp.
  • Go to SimLab Tab and find Inventor Importer Tab as shown in the image.
  • To obtain a trial license, open settings then follow the steps shown here.

- What information is imported from the Inventor model to SketchUp?

The plugin transfers geometries, materials, and textures.

- What versions of SketchUp are supported?

The plugin supports SketchUp 2023 and older, it works on Windows.

- What control do I have over the imported Inventor?

Defaults should work automatically for most of the models, the setting of the plugin still allows you to control the scale of the model, and the up vector to be used.

- My Inventor importer for SketchUp is not working, why is that?

The plugin uses the free inventor viewer for reading inventor parts and assemblies, make sure to install latest version from the following link, and try after that
