SimLab Plugins Licensing Steps



After downloading any of the SimLab 3D plugins, you need to register a license in order to use it.
There are three types of licenses for SimLab Plugins:

SimLab Plugins free trial license

A free trial license that activates the plugin for 2 weeks and limits exporting/importing to 30 times.

SimLab Plugins permanent license

A permanent license that activates the plugin on two different machines for the same user.

SimLab Plugins floating license

A floating license can be installed on a server so it can serve multiple users connected to that server.



  • Start your CAD Application.
  • Click Settings in the plugin menu to open the settings panel (it usually appears in a tab such as add-ins, plug-ins or extensions).

A trial license automatically expires after 30 attempts, or two weeks after the license was requested.
To get a free trial license, do the following:


  • Click the "Free Trial" button.

    • Free Trial button in the SimLab plugin license dialog

  • Fill in the required fields, then click the "Next" button.

Upon receiving the license:


  • Click the "License File" button.

  • Then browse to the license file and select it in order to activate the trial license.

If you face any problem during this process, you can use the following manual process.

  • Click on the Offline Activation link at the bottom of the dialog. Offline Activation link at the bottom of the license dialog

  • Then fill in the fields such as Name and Email, select Trial, then click Next. Offline trial activation form

  • Save the file to your machine; it will be saved as a .mrf file. Then send the file to support@simlab-soft.com Saving the .mrf request file SimLab Soft support email

  • A license file will be sent to you. Download it, then click the License File button to activate your free trial. License File button used to load the received license file




Requesting and activating a professional license


When you buy a professional license you receive a software key that is used to activate the plugin, as shown below.


  • Click Activate.
    • Activate button in the SimLab plugin license dialog

  • Fill in the Name, Company and Email fields, then click Next.

  • Enter your key in the Key field, then click Next.
    If you have a working internet connection, the professional license is activated automatically.

Deactivate Software Keys for SimLab Plugin

Follow these steps to deactivate your SimLab Plugin license key on your machine.


  • Go to the plugin settings, then click the "Deactivate" button as shown in the image below. Go to the settings of the plugin, then click the Deactivate Button.

  • Click 'Yes'. The license can now be used on another machine. Click Yes, now the user can successfully move his license to another machine or deactivate it.

Managing floating licenses


The system administrator should contact license@simlab-soft.com to receive information for installing and configuring the SimLab Floating server.
